Steps to Membership at Central
1. Believe in Jesus Christ
A person who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
2. Be a Baptized Believer
As Baptists, we believe baptism is a symbolic act of obedience. It is a picture of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We believe baptism by immersion (under the water) is the only proper mode of baptism.
3. Attend Discover Class
We offer membership classes taught by one of our pastors through out the year. This class is generally held on Sundays following the worship gathering (lunch and childcare are provided). This class is not a commitment to join, but is a requirement for those who desire to become members. If your interested in learning more about Central, complete the interest form below.
4. Complete a Membership Meeting
After completing the other steps have been completed, we will schedule an informal meeting for you with one of the pastors. During the meeting, you will be asked to share your salvation and baptism testimony as well as why you desire to join Central Baptist Church.
5. Be Presented to the Church
After the other steps have been completed, new members will be presented to the congregation most often during the Sunday morning worship gathering. The congregation will vote to accept these members as they affirm their church covenant and the church will affirm their commitment to you as a new member.
Membership will be maintained through a yearly reaffirmation of the church membership covenant .
